Verizon Galaxy Nexus Supported In AOSP Once Again

Yes that’s right even with the ongoing dispute as to whether the Verizon variant of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is actually a “Nexus” device, Google has released the official binaries for Android 4.1 for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. This means that even though Google has previously stated that the Verizon version would  not be included in AOSP binaries, they may have had a change of heart.

Galaxy Nexus Pulled from Google Play Store Due to Injunction – Coming Back Next Week

Google today had to deal with the injunction that Apple has against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, by temporarily removing it from the Play store. This means that users can’t by Googles flagship device straight from the source which is most certainly not a good thing for Google, Samsung or Android as a whole.

16GB Galaxy Nexus And Droid Incredible 3 4G Release Dates Leaked

0
16GB Galaxy Nexus And Droid Incredible 3 4G Release Dates Leaked

More upcoming devices means more release date leaks and this time it comes in the form of a 16GB version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Droid Incredible 3 4G for Verizon in April. That’s right a lower capacity version of the Galaxy Nexus, the first 4.0 ICS Android phone, and a 4G version of the supremely successful Droid Incredible line coming to Verizon in April.

The upside to the lower capacity on the Galaxy Nexus means that it will most likely lower the price to the $199.99 (on a two-year contract) sweet spot for smartphones. The Droid Incredible line has been a big hit for Verizon and the phones themselves have been pretty darn good considering they all run Sense UI (sorry not a fan). All in all a 4G version of the Incredible with some updated specs would be a good play for HTC and Verizon.

We’ll keep you posted as we get more info.

White Galaxy Nexus Available In The UK Today

Ah the Galaxy Nexus, Googles latest platform phone, how we love you and we love more stories about you and your release. As is the trend Samsung has re-released the Galaxy Nexus in White for would be buyers across the pond. The Galaxy Nexus still sports the same standard specs of the original 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB or RAM, SuperAMOLED display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. If you haven’t read it, check out our full review of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The main thing here is that this version is WHITE! just like Apple has done with the iPhone and Motorola has done with the RAZR, re-releasing a device 3 months after launch in white is the new “it” thing to do. So if you want to be the coolest Galaxy Nexus user you know head on over to your carrier and get your white GNex on.

As a side note, we still don’t know when the Galaxy Nexus will be launched on Sprint even though it’s been confirmed to be coming, and we don’t know if it will be available in white or another trend setting color when it does arrive.
