Rage Released

As if we didn’t have enough video games to discuss lately, today id Software officially released Rage for PC’s, Xbox 360, and PS3. This game has been in the making for a while but looks to break new barriers in an old genre. Obviously being an id software game and coming from the mind of John Carmack the game is going to have a lot of dark demonic implications but the almost Mad Max esq setting has really made me interested in this game. I’m a big fan of the post apocalyptic type games (i.e. Fallout, Borderlands, etc.) but the gritty look of this game has me very interested.

Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to sit down with the game yet to get a full impression of the gameplay and dynamics, but once I do I’ll be back with a full review of Rage and all the ins and outs of Carmacks latest creation!

Left 4 Dead 2 and Valve bring User Created Content to the Masses

Valve has always been a big supporter of user created content and the MOD community. This step that they’re taking is just another evolution in their belief in the people who play and love their games. Valve is working with known MOD developer, Matthew Lourdelet who developed his successful “2 Evil Eyes” campaign for PC. Valve is working with Matthew to prepare new DLC for PC, XBOX 360, and PS3. This is a huge step for indie developers and moders.

Valve has announced that they will be supporting this user created campaign by releasing it along side the remaining L4D1 maps that were not released for L4D2 (Death Toll, Dead Air and Blood Harvest). They haven’t confirmed a release date as of yet but they said that Portal 2 would be released first. Portal 2 is slated for April FYI.

Here’s looking forward to more Zombie Smashing fun!
