Google Unveils Currents It's Flipboard Competitor Currents

Over a month ago we talked about Google introducing a competitor to Flipboard called Propeller. Well Google decided to change the name to Currents. Google Currents is a new way to for mobiles users to read articles and get content. Publishers can get their content distributed through Currents and it’s formatted specifically for mobile phones and tablets, both for Android and iPhones / iPads.

The app is available in both the Android market and the Appstore so give it a whirl. The user interface is pretty sleek and really intuitive once you get started using the app. On the Xoom it fits perfectly and flipping through content is seamless.

Google put together a pretty quick video to give everyone an overview of how Currents works.

Give it a try for yourself and make sure to add Techstify to your feeds!

And we’ve noticed a lot of people having a hard time finding it in the Google Market, the best way to find it is to search for any Google app, then look under other apps by that publisher, or just use this link
