AT&T to get the Acer Iconia Tablet As Well!

It seems that Verizon isn’t the only one who is going to be getting Acer’s Iconia 10.1″ Android 3.0 Tablet. AT&T has issued a press release announcing that it too will be carrying the Acer tablet and that it would also sport their version of 4G. This is a tablet that I’ve been interested in for a while (I probably won’t get it now that I have the XOOM) but spec wise it matches right up with the XOOM, Dual core Tegra 1ghz processor, Android 3.0, 1gb RAM, 5MP rear camera, front facing camera and a 10.1″ screen. The only difference with this tablet may be the price as Acer has always had very reasonable pricing for it’s devices.

We’ll see how this progresses but it seems that most manufacturers are taking the approach of having their devices on multiple carriers as the best way to go, and to be honest I tend to agree with them.

Acer Iconica Not getting enough Press

Acer Iconica Not getting enough Press

Acer Iconica Tablet is not getting enough press!!

Back in January during CES Acer announced it’s upcoming lineup of smartphones and tablets. A lot has been written about the Liquid smartphone line and everyone seemed to be please with that coverage. I for one am interested in the Acer Iconica Tablet that was announce. The tablet is running the same specs that all of the big players are (Motorola XOOM, Samsung Galaxy 10.1, LG Optimus Pad) but isn’t getting the same level of respect. Maybe it’s because the initial units shown were running Android 2.3 and not Honeycomb (although Acer has repeatedly said that they will upgrade to Honeycomb). Maybe it’s because it’s Acer and not one of the “big” name players. Or maybe it’s because Acer isn’t doing a good enough job talking up their product.

Here are the specs for the Acer Iconica Tab 500 (so far)

  • 10.1 ” multi-touch screen
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2, dual core 1 GHz
  • Flash 10.1
  • HDMI-Out
  • 13.3 mm Thick
  • 10-point multi touch
  • gyro

Now if the Iconica has 1 Gb of Ram, don’t you think this would stack up evenly with everyone else on the block?

Knowing Acer they will have this bad boy priced at the sweet spot of the market and may even undercut some of the larger names out there so you may want to give this tablet some thought.

Oh and did I forget to mention that it will be a 4G LTE device for Verizon?
