Whew, today is the 5th of the month and things are already going crazy! Motorola held their highly anticipated press conference today to introduce a trio of new Android devices headed to Verizon this quarter.

Lets start off small, in relative terms that is, the DROID RAZR M. The RAZR M is the more portable of the 3 devices announced today sporting an edge-to-edge 4.3" Super AMOLED advanced display. The phone is equal in face dimensions to the iPhone but has 30% more screen real estate.

Second in the family is the DROID RAZR HD,  which comes sporting a 4.7" Super AMOLED HD display. The new display provides 78% more pixels than previous versions. The phone also has 40% greater battery capacity than the original DROID RAZR.

Lastly is the big boss of the family, the DROID RAZR MAXX HD (yowza). The RAZR MAXX HD has the same display as the regular RAZR HD, but has improved battery life and capacity. Motorola is promising 32 hours of normal use (we don't know what normal use of a cell phone is either). The RAZR MAXX HD can handle 13 hours of straight video playback, 21 hours of continuous talk time, or 8 hours of continuous Web browsing on Verizons 4G LTE network. All of that blows away what current phones are capable are doing, even the 1st Gen RAZR MAXX.

All of the newly announced DROID RAZR phones, run on Verizons 4G LTE, have 8MP cameras with LED flash, and 1080p Video Recording. They all share the same dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC, Corning Gorilla Glass and Dupont KEVLAR.

Obviously Motorola and Google knew what they were in for this month so they came out swinging to draw the attention back to them after the intro of the Nokia 920 & 820 this morning. It will be interesting to see how these phones pan out when they hit the market, which other than the DROID RAZR M (pre-orders start today, and availability starts September 13th) has yet to be announced.

Obviously we still have HTC and Apple events to come this month so who knows if we'll still be talking about these devices in two weeks, but it is a great start.
