Dimension Drive’s Second Chance

Dimension Drive’s Second Chance

I hadn’t heard of Dimension Drive at all until this morning when I saw this Polygon article, but I’m glad I got a second chance – just like the game did! Dimension Drive is an indie shooter game (a scrolling shooter with a twist – this is not your average galaxian) with a beautiful art style that got screwed on kickstarter in the final hour. This is the game that’s gotten a second chance, and that first troll is getting shown up by the success of it.

PAX East: A Look into Extreme Exorcism

I was lucky enough to sit down with Mike from Golden Ruby Games to talk about the new(ish) game Extreme Exorcism that’s coming out soon on PS4, Xbox Live & Steam! With all the buzz around the two new ghostbusters movies, why not train yourself and your friends to be the best ghost hunters and weapons experts you can be in this hi-scoring pixel driven haunted game.

PAX East 2015: Digital Highlights

I was lucky enough to attend Penny Arcade Expo East in Boston, MA to check out the latest in digital/indie gaming from developers all over the globe. I gathered up all of my digital favorites from games I got to demo on the expo floor. Here are tonight’s top stories (for the games I got to try).

PAX East 2015: Tabletop Review

So Tabletop has had a sincere rise in popularity over the past few years – probably in part to Wil Wheaton’s fabulous YouTube series inspiring folks to get back into analog gaming, but also due to the resurgence of developers who were interested in challenging the market. PAX East this year had a seriously packed tabletop gaming space, even bigger than the one I saw last year. Less booths, but way way more Magic: The Gathering. I got together a list of games from PAX that I played and would like to play after seeing them on the show floor.

The Zoombini Comeback

The Zoombini Comeback

When I was a kid, we had this thing called “Computer time” in our elementary school classrooms. Games like Putt Putt, Pajama Sam and Carmen Sandiego were on our computer for us to play with, but only for about a half hour during the day. The best game to play on the computer however, was always Zoombinis. The educational value was there without the overly in-your-face education tactics like games such as Math Blaster had. So when I heard it was coming back, I was an embarrassingly amount of excited.

App of the Week: Tap Titans

Equivalent to the standard button mashing, speed running action/adventure games of our time (I’m currently replaying Kingdom Hearts, my thumb is a little sore) are addicting, for seemingly no apparent reason. Tap Titans has almost nothing to it, literally just tap on your screen and level up your characters. Like a boss.

I keep coming back though. Tap tap tapping away.
