Microsoft kicked off E3 with a bang today at their pre-E3 event highlighting the gaming features of the Xbox One. But most importantly Microsoft announced the release date and pricing for the upcoming Xbox One console.

The Xbox One console will retail for $499, and include the new Xbox Kinect, one controller, and HDMI cable. If you pre-order the Xbox One, you can get the special “Day One” edition which includes a commemorative controller and a special achievement. Multiple retailers are already taking pre-orders, and some have even taken to bundling games with the system to try to entice buyers.
