It’s been a while since the last installment in the Wolfenstein franchise, but for a game that really brought the FPS game time to the masses, it’s certainly not over. Bethesda and ZeniMax have announced the newest title in the series Wolfenstein: The New Order is slated for release in Q4 of 2013. This newest Wolfenstein is being developed MachineGames which should lend to the credibility of the title.

Not too much is known yet about the story or where this newest version fits in to the Wolfenstein family but I’m sure those details will come out at E3, or perhaps at Microsofts announcement in a few short weeks. Regardless we know we can expect that the game will be set in the 1960’s (an alternate universe version of it) and will include Nazi’s, violence, and a lot of destruction. The game is being built on the visually stunning ID Tech5 Engine which means we’re in for a treat when it comes to look.

Keep your eyes on Gamespot.com for some incoming exclusive information regarding the game which we’ll share here as well, but for now, enjoy this launch trailer!
