As Nokia has pushed Windows Phone into the market place there has been one glaring hole in their attempts to get the masses on board, the lack of their flagship Lumia line on the Nations largest carrier Verizon. Starting May 16th that is all about to change as Verizon and Nokia have confirmed that the Lumia 928 will be available for $99.99 on contract starting next week.
The Lumia 928 is a slightly improved upon version of the very popular Lumia 920 that has been available on other GSM carriers for a while now. The 928 sports an 8.7 Megapixel PureView camera which is an advancement over the previous iteration. The new camera boasts optical image stabilization for better low-light photography and more stable pictures overall. The Phone also includes NFC, wireless charging and a 4.5 OLED display that the 920 featured.
The Lumia 920 has been reviewed across the board and has impressed almost every pundit, the only draw back for Windows Phone devices so far has been the lack of apps within the app store, and availability across carriers. Now with the launch of the Lumia on Verizons network there is a true high-end Windows Phone on the largest and fastest 4G network in the USA. If you’re in the market for a new phone this is certainly a great option, just know that the $99.99 offer requires a new 2-year contract and a $50 mail-in-rebate.
