Yes with all the talk of a new Playstation 4 and the Xbox 720, we need a game that everyone can look to and say, this is why I need the newest system. Well Bungie, the makers of Halo, and Activision publisher of some of the largest and most successful franchises in video game history are bringing us a game they hope is that marker, Destiny.
Destiny is the next evolution in FPS games from the gang at Bungie. They’re taking their trademark grand scope, sci-fi storytelling and first-person action gaming to new heights in what they plan on being the next “10 year” game. Their goal is not to just make a game that you want to play, but to create a living wold that changes and changes the dynamic of online play. An ambitions task that very few studios could take on but Bungie is not afraid of ambitious projects and neither is Activision so the two combined are in it to win it with this undertaking.
Luckily Bungie has said that Destiny will be available for current generation Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles along with the upcoming unannounced Playstation 4 and Xbox (720). They have not said what differences if any there will be between versions but they’re counting on their newest generation game engine to bring it to life across these console generations.
Gamestop is already taking pre-orders for Destiny, even though no official release date has been given, and Destiny is not included in the 2013 launch outlook for Activision.
