Regulators are preparing to approve of Verizon Wireless’s deal to acquire spectrum from cable companies including Comcast Corp.

This deal has been in the works for a while and Comcast initially was against Verizon picking up additional spectrum until Verizon and Comcast came to an agreement in which Comcast would receive certain things from Verizon. The deal had been under heavy scrutiny but everything seems to be moving forward now. The cable companies have agreed to limit the scope and duration of agreements to sell each others services, meaning that companies like Comcast may soon be bundling cellphone service through Verizon with their packages, in an attempt to compete with the single bill service that AT&T’s U-Verse provides.
