30 years after the launch of the original Pitfall for the Atari 2600 Video Game, Activision Publishing has launched a new Pitfall game for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

The updated Pitfall game has been developed by Activisions recently revealed Leeds, UK-based studio The Blast Furnace. The new studio is led by former head of Rockstar London, Mark Washbrook, along with the new addition of Rockstar Leeds legend Gordon Hall. Hall will also take over as the Chief Creative Officer for Activisions Mobile team, focusing on bringing AAA interactive experiences to the mobile space.

The new Pitfall game takes a lot off queues from the original Pitfall and brings it into the modern era. You’ll still encounter iconic objects, crocodiles, rope swings, gold bars etc., but you’ll also be exposed to new environments, updated 3D graphics and enhanced gameplay.

Activision has also said that there are plans for the game to evolve through time with future content updates.
