Lets take this with a grain of salt, but for what it’s worth Phandroid is reporting that Google might be gearing up to ship the highly anticipated Nexus 7 tablet beginning next week. This is welcome news for a lot of consumers who during the Google I/O keynote dropped down their credit cards to pre-order the 7″ beauty, even though Google was vague regarding a release date.

There have been some signs that most of us have seen, the temporary charge on your account, the $1.00 Google charge that goes through to confirm it’s an actual card. Well now there are some additional clues, one consumer is claiming to have received an e-mail directly from Google saying “they would be unable to cancel the order, as the ordered has already been processed, and shipment/delivery preparations have already gone into effect.” Again this is just speculation at this point, and I’m not going to attempt to confirm by canceling my order so if you’ve tried and received any notification from Google please let us know.

Another interesting note is that the listing for the Nexus 7 on Staples’ site notifies customers that although there is a limited quantity of tablets available the Nexus tablet is expected to ship between July 12th and July 17th. This lines up with what information Google did share during their I/O when they said that the device would ship in the middle of July. Regardless of whether it happens next week or the week after, we’ll certainly know soon enough!
