That’s right Baseball fans, spring is in the air, and 2K has released its annual entry into their baseball series with MLB 2k12. This year they’ve added to the already impressive MLB 2k11 features with new dynamic ratings system, a revamped throwing system for plays in the field, an updated hit distribution system, and an enhanced My Player mode.
Personally the My Player mode from last year made the game awesome, and honestly if I could play as good as the player I created, I’d be on the diamond and not behind a computer. I’m really looking forward to getting into the game today and letting everyone know how these enhancements have made the game better.
My biggest hope is that 2K has resolved some of the lingering achievement issues that have plagued the series (I still can’t get 10 achievements from 2k11 no matter what I do) but if that’s the only thing I have to complain about I guess all in all it’s a good day.
Lastly along with the release of the game, 2k has announced that once again they are featuring their $1 Million Perfect Game Challenge. The Challenge begins on the Official opening day for Baseball April 4th. This year they’ve actually added an eight-person single elimination tournament to determine who walks away with the $1 Million grand prize. I’m certainly going to throw my hat into the ring and try to win myself and the leader-board ranking perfect games should help challenge me knowing who else is out there trying to get in on the action too.

“I’m not perfect, but I’ve sure come close,” said Detroit Tiger’s ace pitcher and Major League Baseball 2K12 cover athlete Justin Verlander. “I can’t wait to watch this competition unfold and see who will be the newest inductee into the 2K Sports ‘Perfect Club’ – a club I’m determined to get into myself.”
“Winning this competition is life changing,” said Brian Kingrey, winner of last year’s Perfect Game Challenge. “I was a nervous wreck just trying to pitch a perfect game from home, so I can’t even begin to imagine how the final eight competitors are going to feel. I’m excited to see how the contest plays out.’”
